Promised to review Burns Night – culturally it was a roaring success. Organisationally is was a near disaster. Almost everyone of the audience arrived almost half an hour late so we couldn’t start until they were seated. I did not have nearly enough people from the Friends Committee to help out.
Can’t possibly do anything like this again until I get helpers sorted out. Fortunately, Sandra came in to take the tickets, and Margaret manned the bar,with the wonderful help of Sandra’s husband. But none of us had the necessary experience to keep everything in check.
Next entry will, possibly report on financial success – or otherwise!
It is now 9th and the figures haven’t come in yet. That is probably a good thing
