My birthday

Nothing if not original, spent today, my 00th birthday in Westminster Cathedral. It was the annual London Mayors’ service, and was as usual very very impessive – just the building – erected in 1269 – the interior, the stall, the choir and then all the mayors in their robes processing behind their bearers with their Maces. It is certainly worth attending every year, because I am sure I will never get over the wonder of it!

Had a number (3 to be exact) of cards from the usual culprits – Jason, June and Jo as well as a very funny email one from Marius, which I replied to immediately. Rosalind phoned, too, but had no idea of the date today!

Very satisfactory day and when I think of the health of my contemporaries,  can only feel very very lucky,
